The upcoming Cirque du Soleil production Amaluna will be a love story inspired by Greek mythology, Amazonian warrior women and Shakespeare, featuring 70% female performers.
"The story of Amaluna is about a young daughter becoming a woman, and all the great goddesses and women who come to participate in this ceremonious right of passage," the show's director, Diane Paulus, said following its unveiling in Montreal on Wednesday.
