eyeshadow vs. eyeliner

Dear Rachel,

Why do you recommend using charcoal eyeshadow to create a “smoky”
effect on the corners of eyes instead of an eyeliner?

Dear prettypinkponies,
In my years of experience working with dancers and other performers, I’ve noticed that eyeshadow tends to last longer when exposed to heat from extreme lighting conditions and withstands perspiration better than eyeliner.  In addition, charcoal eyeshadow doesn’t melt as easily as your typical eyeliner.  If you tend to perspire on your face, and/or if you live in The Valley, your eye make-up will last longer if you opt for the eyeshadow vs. eyeliner.
xo,
